responce to aspects videos.

my feelings and interpretations of the videos varied.
for some i enjoyed them, cherished the little things which happened in them.
others annoyed, confused and even angered me.


the first video where the woman draws on herself in the series of
video camera, projection and mirroring
was very intriguing.
i found her both captivating and inspiring.

in contrast, the video with the animation of the
childlike, animated, painted, trippy, messy
badly organized, end of days type area
was obnoxious.
gave me a headache.
didn't enjoy it at all.

the other videos;

the bird video was very cute and more humorous
after i learned the real meaning in the commentary.

the video with the robot and man
was confusing at first,
but turned out very interesting and
became very eye opening to me as it ended.

all in all i did like the different videos
like i said, i'm not the digital type,
but i do like watching and interacting with other's digital work.

hopefully i can learn more about all these digital things.
and up my skills : )

new media art. let's discuss...

new media art to me...
well, i have to say, firstly that i'm not the digital type.
i enjoy looking at and do appreciate the new age and ways of art making,
but find it difficult to express myself through digital media.

new media art has many definitions
and as with traditional art making.
it's hard to ACTUALLY define.

video, computer manipulation
and sound manipulation come to mind.
as well as digital animation and
digital photography.

it's the new way of expression.
taking traditional ideas and
using new techniques
in our digital, computing world
to express the same thought processes.
